4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but too thick, May 27, 2011

Alright, a little pricy (at the time of my purchase) for an internal HD, but that can be because of the brand. I love Toshiba and I own quite a few external on USB 3.0 from them, but this internal was basically the same price but without casing...
I have bought this internal HD especially because I have bought an ASUS laptop that has two HD slots. I used to have a 500GB HD in there, but then I thought I should upgrade. I thought if I should use the second slot I should at least make it 1TB. What I did not know for sure were the dimensions of the HD... It turns out the HD is 1,01cm (one centimeter and one millimeter) thick, which makes it too thick for my laptop. I cannot use it the way I intended to, and it does not fit also in a adaptor case I have bought some time ago. I had to buy a whole new case for it and I end up paying more...
That would be the downside, the product itself is great though. I know I am supose to rate the product, but I cannot realy rate it five... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars TOSHIBA SUCKS; GET A SEAGATE OR A HITACHI, August 12, 2011

The only reason why I got the Toshiba is that it was the only one at the time that had at least a 1TB+ hard drive, which I got 2 for so I can edit video on the go without the power cords. I didn't mind it was too thick for a laptop, as I was using it on an external bus powered FW800 enclosure. However, I should've known better.

I've had it for months and now that I'm on an intense workload, the disks would eject itself or fail... temporarily. I've had to Disk Warrior the darn thing to get my files back, but some of those files got lost (thank God for backups). But this is annoying and scary now as I'm in the middle of a project and can't afford to lose any more info. In a scramble now I'm in the midst of buying 2 Seagate 1TB+ 2.5 drives in case the Toshibas fail completely.

Toshibas are not known for reliable hard drives (I've had one fail on me on my Powerbook years ago), so get the more reliable names like Seagate or Hitachi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice for me, December 4, 2011

I bought for my Toshiba Qosmio, I created two partitions. For me, it is more than perfect.
Today, I came to buy another one for my Carputer, but the price is soooo expensive comparing to that paid. Now, it is 144.85 while I paid 84.99 on May 9 this year.
